In 2018, Koiwazurai no Ellie was nominated for best shoujo in the 42nd Kodansha Manga Awards. By May 2020, the 11 volumes in circulation exceeded a cumulative total of 1.4 million copies.
A drama CD adaptation of Koiwazurai no Ellie was released on May 13, 2020, sold separately from the manga. Its cast comprised of Ari Ozawa as Eriko Ichimura; Nobuhiko Okamoto as Akira Oumi; Saori Oonishi as Sara Misaki; Kazuyuki Okitsu as Kiyoshi Shiota; and Yuusuke Shirai as Aoba.
Koiwazurai no Ellie has been digitally published in English as Lovesick Ellie by Kodansha Comics USA since November 28, 2017.
